Dorsey’s reel featured a montage of photographs capturing moments with the pup, his late partner Naya Rivera, their son Josey Hollis, and the family’s elder dog, Lucy, as People reports. Meanwhile, Israel Kamakawiwoʻole’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” played in the video.
The post’s caption read, “Josey and I came home from opening day for baseball and came to final resting place, on the bathroom floor laid up next to her older sister Lucy. Her heart beat all it could, and she lived a good life. She would’ve been 10 this summer… It’s been a tough weekend.”
Additionally, Dorsey recalled the day they ventured to San Diego to meet the dog, Emmington Brown. She was the smallest of the litter and was affectionately known as “Sweet Baby Emmers.” He said that the pup’s mother had followed them as they were taking Emmy home.
Moreover, their older dog, Lucy, eventually grew fond of Emmy after a few years, despite her initial reluctance upon Emmy’s arrival. Dorsey called her the “sweetest and most quiet dog.” Recounting his memories with the dog, he stated, “I would take you to set with me and people would barely know you were in the trailer. They’d call me to set, I’d leave, you never barked or anything. You didn’t give a s—.”
Finally, he concluded the post by saying, “You were my emotional support animal through it all. I’m gonna miss you, Emmers. You were one of the good ones … Thank you for all the love and cuddles. Keep mommy company, and we’ll see you on the other side of the ?. We ❤️ you.”
