In recent years, the spotlight has increasingly turned towards the pet food industry due to a series of high-profile recalls from well-known brands. Tragically, numerous cases have emerged where beloved canine companions have suffered illness or even succumbed to consuming these recalled products. It is natural to wonder about potential recalls of the popular dog food brand, Taste of the Wild.

Without a doubt, safeguarding your dog’s health necessitates ensuring they consume only high-quality, uncontaminated foods. Typically, recalls indicate that a specific dog food product either contains or lacks essential components, rendering it unsuitable for consumption. Let’s investigate whether Taste of the Wild is safe for your furry friend.

Has Taste of the Wild recalled its dog food in 2024?

Fortunately, as of 2024, none of Taste of the Wild’s products are subject to recall, providing assurance to dog owners. The Food and Drug Administration has not issued any official statements regarding a recall of Taste of the Wild products, indicating no quality concerns thus far.

In addition, there are currently no documented cases of canine illnesses or fatalities related to the consumption of their products. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website provides comprehensive and dependable updates on all dog food brands subject to recall in 2024.

When was the last Taste of the Wild dog food recall?

Diamond Pet Foods is the producer of Taste of the Wild in Meta, Missouri. In May 2012, Diamond Pet Foods recalled 14 of their brands, including Taste of the Wild, due to contamination with Salmonella.

On May 4, 2012, Diamond Pet Foods announced the expansion of its voluntary recall. The recall encompassed batches of Taste of the Wild’s dry pet food formulation due to possible contamination with Salmonella bacteria. Moreover, the affected products were manufactured between December 9, 2011, and April 7, 2012.

As per the company’s statement, none of the products being recalled tested positive for Salmonella. However, the manufacturer is withdrawing these products from store shelves “as a precautionary measure.”
