On January 23, armed police responded to reports of a “large Bulldog-type dog” making unprovoked attacks on people. (via Sky News) Shockingly, one of the men attacked by the dog was his owner, who was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the canine first attacked a man who was walking to a nearby shop before mauling his owner. Kevin Pace — who lives near the scene of the attack — witnessed everything through his kitchen window.
“There was a commotion outside — the dog was barking and growling and the two guys were screaming,” Pace told the news outlet. “I think the first guy has been bitten and the other guy was trying to get him off.”
Continuing, Pace shared: “Eventually, they got the dog off him but then the dog turned on his owners and grabbed hold of him and just didn’t let go. It was pretty Brutal.
The first victim was rushed to hospital and treated for minor injuries. According to Pace, the owner had “lost a lot of blood” and kept “slipping unconscious” when police arrived. ”
Then, the aggressive canine tried to attack one of the responding officers.
According to BBC Scotland News, the dog was on a lead and in the company of his owner at the time of the incident, but then things got out of control.
