[ad_1]

When it comes to pet care, ensuring the safety and quality of our furry friends’ food is paramount. Many dog brands, including Canidae, are garnering attention regarding the possibility of a food recall in 2024.

As pet owners strive to provide the best nutrition for their dogs, concerns arise when brands face scrutiny over product safety. Let’s delve into whether pet parents need to be cautious while purchasing Canidae dog food.

Has Canidae recalled its dog food in 2024?

As of 2024, there hasn’t been a single recall of Canidae dog food. Moreover, to the delight of dog owners, no reports have confirmed illnesses from consuming Canidae products.

Thus, it is reassuring to know that Canidae products are currently safe for dogs. However, many recalls do not get media attention, so you should refer to the official Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website.

When was the last Canidae dog food recall?

Canidae brand has one record of food recall. The brand issued a voluntary recall of four of its dry dog food products on May 4, 2012. The decision came after Diamond Pet Foods informed Canidae about the detection of Salmonella at its facility in Gaston, South Carolina.

Accordingly, the recall included these products:

  • Canidae Platinum Dry Dog Food
  • Canidae All Life Stages Dry Dog Food
  • Canidae Lamb Meal & Rice Dry Dog Food
  • Canidae Chicken Meal & Rice Dry Dog Food

Canned products and treats remained safe from this recall.

Only Canidae dry dog food formulas with production codes containing a number “3” in the 9th digit and an “X” in the 10th or 11th digit were part of the recall. Additionally, these products should have best-before dates ranging from December 9, 2012, to January 31, 2013.

Furthermore, the recall impacted Eastern U.S. states, including Florida, New York, Massachusetts, South Carolina, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina.
